Renting a boat to explore the entire island is another activity not to be missed. One of the must-visit spots is Lorong Mati, two high cliffs that are close together and form a beautiful passageway for taking pictures. The mangrove forest around the island also offers a cool and fresh view and is home to small fish and Blacktip Sharks.

Rowa Island, a Snorkeling & Diving Paradise in Maluku

To reach Rowa Island, the journey starts from Pattimura Airport, Ambon, to Dumatubuh Airport. From there, the journey continues with public transportation to Dullah Barat Jetty, before finally renting a boat to cross to Rowa Island. The boat trip takes about 30 minutes.

There is no entrance fee to Rowa Island as it is a body of water, but visitors need to rent a boat for around IDR 700,000 per small boat. The island operates 24 hours, but the best time to visit is early morning or late afternoon to avoid the heat and to get better photos.

Other activities to enjoy on Rowa Island include sunbathing on the beautiful white sand beach, and fishing and sailing around the island. Although facilities on the island are very limited, prepare food and drink supplies before leaving to ensure comfort while traveling on this uninhabited island.

Rowa Island does offer extraordinary beauty from both underwater and land. With careful preparation, a visit to Rowa Island will be an unforgettable travel experience.
