Huta Raja Ulos Village is a Batak Cultural Heritage in Samosir

Hutaraja Ulos Village in Pangururan District, Samosir Regency, is the center of North Sumatra's Ulos weaving craft. Every year, this Ulos Village always holds festivals including the Hita Do Hutaraja Festival (we are Huta Raja), and Lake Toba Batak Cultural Festival, whose driving force is Batak youth from various cities in Indonesia.

For the Batak tribe, Ulos is a traditional cloth that has a very high spiritual element value. Ulos is a form of intangible cultural heritage with a very deep meaning and function as a cultural identity for Batak people, especially in Samosir, which has been passed down from ancestors. Ulos is used in traditional ceremonies such as marriage, birth, and death. Each type of ulos has its meaning and is given based on the situation and social relationship between the giver and receiver.

Not only that, in the Ulos Huta Raja Village, visitors can enjoy existing facilities such as the Ulos Gallery which provides various types of Ulos and unique Batak souvenirs, there is also a cafe around Lake Toba, tourists can enjoy the beauty of Lake Toba while sitting relaxed, also equipped with public toilets with good and clean facilities.
