Umbul Ponggok Tourism Destination Unique Underwater Tourism in Klaten, Central Java

Footage Nusantara - Umbul Ponggok is one of the water attractions located in Klaten Regency, Central Java. The name Umbul Ponggok refers to the hamlet where it is located, Padukuhan Ponggok. According to the local community, this natural pool has been around since the 19th century.

This tourist destination is not just an ordinary swimming pool, the water flow comes from a spring.  Umbul Ponggok has a pool area of 50x25 meters with a depth of 1.5 - 2.6 meters in which there are colorful freshwater fish. From the top of the pool, visitors can see the bottom of the pool because of the clear water.

Then, the bottom of the pond of Umbul Ponggok is sand and fish. Although the pond is filled with fish, the water here does not taste fishy because the water is constantly flowing. The manager also puts bicycles, televisions, dining tables, and other properties at the bottom of the water for tourists who want to take pictures. 

Another plus point is that tourists who want to dive to the bottom of the pond can enjoy snorkeling and diving facilities. 

Umbul Ponggok Entrance Ticket Price

Umbul Ponggok is located in Ponggok Village, Delanggu Road, Polanharjo District, Klaten, Central Java. Visitors who want to recreate at Umbul Ponggok are charged an entrance ticket price of IDR 10,000 for weekdays and IDR 15,000 on Saturdays, Sundays, and national holidays. However, the price does not include diving and other activities.

If you want to do diving activities, visitors spend IDR 250,000 per person, including diving equipment, diving instructors, and photo and video documentation with a duration of 60 minutes.

Meanwhile, for visitors who want to do underwater walker activities, the cost is IDR 150,000 per person. The fee applies for a duration of 20 minutes, including photo and video documentation.

Umbul Ponggok Klaten is open every day from 08.00 WIB - 16.00 WIB on weekdays. While on holidays open at 08.00 and close at 17.00 WIB.
